From New Zealand to central or south America

Hi , my name is Thomas and i'm currently in a world trip since 18 month.
I still have 6 month left, and i would like to go in central or south america, around the end of january (flexible date)

I follow the discussions on this group since one month now , i checked all the tips and advice that people sent, for exemple on this post http://www.couchsurfing.org/group_read.html?gid=27248&post=13579398&utm_campaign=group&utm_medium=email&utm_source=cs#post13915023

but i think a post can be also usefull

My first idea was to go to Chile by the most interesting way and , to be honest, the cheapest, but it seems really difficult to go there and the flight ticket is a bit expansive for me.

So, i'm opened to any destinations from mexico to Chile.

I have a few sailing skills, but never on a long ride like that. I'm traveling alone with a 20kg backpack.
Of course i share everything, but i need to know before if it's ok with my budget.

At last, if you are interested, i try to make a documentary about my trip, places i see, people i meet, ... etc, and i would like to include the ride in it. If you don't want , i switch off the camera.

Thank you

This trip is beyond the scope of your average tradewind sailor. It would be easier to sail westabout around the world and arrive that way... Of course there are the westerly winds of the roaring forties but a high latitude boat would literally "hand pick" their crew. Good luck.
