Grenada or St Maarten to UK or Norway
Posted March 24th, 2013 - 11:07 am by from Weston-super-Mare, England (Permalink)
I have space for 2 people on a 46' Sailing Yacht

This is for a Yacht delivery from Grenada, Caribbean to Bergen. Norway.
The delivery will commence during the middle part of May 2013.

My current intention is to leave Grenada around the 15th May, taking 2/3 days to Philipsberg, St Maarten. Where we will provision the boat for the trip across to Horta Azores. From there the intention is to sail direct to Bergen. Depending on weather, we may go from St Maarten to Bermuda. We may also stop in the UK, France or Holland on the way to Bergen.

The duration can obviously be effected by a number of factors usually a delivery of this nature could take around 6 or 7 weeks. this an estimate so please include a reasonable contingency factor in planning.

There are no travel expenses paid and a contribution will be required for food of US$10 per day or less.
Any marina fees for the boat will be included, but local entry and exit taxes for the individual will be your own responsibility.

You should have some sailing experience and ideally be able to stand a solo night watch, but mile builders and those wish to expand their experience are very welcome. However, a working knowledge of COLREGS is essential.
The Current crew are myself, a qualified RYA Yachtmaster Ocean and two RYA Yachtmaster Offshore who are doing their Ocean Qualifying passage.

If you are interested then please contact me as soon as possible. When replying please can you provide the following information:

Do you have any dietary constraints.
A sailing C.V. or brief resumee of qualifications and experience.

You will need your own waterproofs.

My aim is to make every delivery a safe enjoyable and rewarding experience. Please remember that there will be time constraints and that the delivery includes preparing the boat for the passage and preparing the boat for handover to the client.

I look forward to hearing from you shortly.

This trip is going ahead, but sadly it seems the Couch Surfer lined up to join won't make it.
This means I still have a space if anyone is interested.

Please get in touch soon. We intend to sail sometime around 15th May.

Interested in the trip up to the point of Bahamas, but Im afraid the only apect of the trip that I might be helpful with is the night watch.

Hi, thanks for responding.
Unfortunately neither North America nor Bahamas on on my route.

Good luck with finding what you want.

Hi Mart,

Unfortunately I'm not able (though interested!) to make this delivery with you, but I would be very interested if you pick up projects around the continent. Experienced sailor from the San Francisco, CA area, now based in Sevilla, Spain, but self-employed and free.

Take care and safe passage,
Hays
