hundezone an der Alte Donau
Posted February 22nd, 2010 - 5:45 am by from Vienna, Austria (Permalink)
i used to live close to there long time ago and actually its the best place for dogs to socialize, i think its the biggest closed hundezone in vienna plus dogs are allowed to swim in the old danube :D which is awesome :P
i recomend you to go there more in winter, spring or fall... in sommer there are too much people there and sometimes they dont clean up what their dogs do... so its kinda disgusting... but still fun for dogs, it would be nice to meet there once :)
greetings

Hi hi "der Alv"! Sounds awesome! I have never been there so far. But would be great to get some people together to go there soon. What about next Sunday? I am kind of busy during the week. Zana is with me most of the time, so she doesn t miss her park-walk-run-experiences. But meeting up at a special location during the week is kind of hard to manage at the moment. So let it be a Saturday or a Sunday :). Greetings!! Alex

This hundezone is really nice, also because you can simply walk to Donauinsel if it's too crowded or stupid people around. At the moment I wouldn't recommend it though - there's much ice at the moment and once it's thawing it will be all muddy and slippery. I live close to there so I see it almost everyday so I can keep you updated. :)

Hallo Leni! Great to welcome you as the third member of the group!!! And yes, please keep us updated! Donauinsel or Prater are still an option for the weekend though. I was born in Salzburg too and our first dog was a husky-malamut-mix. So I would be very pleased to get to know you and your beautiful fellows... Cheers, Alex

update: the snow and ice is gone and since it didn't rain during the last days the ground in the hundezone looks acceptable now :)

@Alex: Husky-Malamut-mix, wow! I love all the nordic dogs. They are a bit of a challenge but good companions in all situations and soooo friendly! Ronja is a pure Siberian Husky, 6 years old and enjoys our almost daily bike trips of 1 hour or more. :D

Hej Guys! Sunday 3 p.m. hundezone Alte Donau??

Hey!
Sunday 3 pm sounds good, but I'd prefer Donauinsel because Ronja likes it much more. So what would you say: 3 pm Tram-Stop "Donauinsel"? (31)
