It would have been a good idea to read and understand the whole article first, and if you already did so then don't leave a post as misleading as the one above! The flights only (almost) ran out of fuel because they were diverted from Madrid to Valencia - 300 km away, and then left to circle the airport.

True, Ryanair admits to minimising fuel reserves in comparison to other airlines, but if it can save costs and offer me €5 flights by doing so, while still keeping an amount of extra fuel on board sufficient to fly an extra 300 km plus hold over the airport for an hour, I'm more than happy!

This practice is standard operating procedure in the airline industry. I didn't read the article, so perhaps this airline went further with this than others, but it is not out of the ordinary

B&B and hostels in Ryanair cities
Posted April 29th, 2013 - 10:55 am by PEPPINO from Barcelona, Spain (Permalink)
Dear Ryanair lovers,
I created this group in 2006 with the intention to allow the community to support travelers with questions about Ryanair policies/procedures and, more important, about cities where Ryanair flights.

Usually, the Ryaniar cities are some "secondary" cities with respect to the main city where travelers intend to visit.
So if you flight to Milan...you'll actually land in Bergamo, Paris in Beauvais, Barcelona in Girona and so on...
Although many of these cities are worthy to be visited, they have smaller CS communities and it's not easy to find a couch.
Moreover, Ryanair flights are well know to be scheduled with not-convenient timing: that's why we all are often forced to find an accommodation in these cities.

So, I encourage you to post all the information you have about any cheap B&B and hostels you know in those cities, the more convenient to get to the airport.

I suggest that people living in those cities create one (1) post with the title of the Airport ("Milan // Bergamo - Orio al Serio") where collect all the contributions by travelers and residents. Please read carefully the threads and avoid duplication.

Enjoy your journeys!

Ryanair is dangerous

To save money on fuel, they fly with the least fuel possible in their tanks.

Three planes almost ran out of fuel putting passengers lives in danger.
