Let's get an amateur ballet/modern performance group going in Berlin!

Hi all, I've been running a regular pairs acrobatics meetup through CS, and it worked really well. Now that the winter months are here and it's too cold for acro outdoors, it's time for the next crazy idea.

A lot of people have been learning dance for ages, or were once really good at it, and then stopped practising at some stage. I'm a late starter with the ballet, but am slowly improving, and I already have the lifts from my acrobatics experience. There's no reason to just bust our guts in classes, and then do nothing else with it outside of them.

So, I'm wondering if anyone in this small CS group is interested in trying to put together some choreography or doing a bit of ballet partnering? I'm only a complete amateur, but just because you'll never play in the World Cup doesn't mean it's not fun to kick a football around in the park :).

Let me know if you are interested at all, or know of some similar project!

Cheers,
James

Hi Jo! We have a big room in our apartment which we chose specifically as a dance space, but we are already bouncing off the walls with the partnering there. It's ok to start with, but depending on how popular/complex the idea gets, we'd eventually find somewhere else. Berlin is a pretty good city for finding big empty spaces in :).

Cheers,
James

Hi James,

are you still looking for dancers?
I am a dancer and dancing teacher and would like to try out a new group/ duo.

Hi Smoeni, nice to hear from you! Yes, I'm still going ahead with this idea... apart from the tango, I've been meeting one dancer to do some pas de deux, although quite irregularly, and also starting to put on some Tanztee events for a bit of fun, plus signing up for an amateur dance group that one of my dance teachers is running. I would like to get more things going, so it would be great to meet you some time to talk about it more if you are keen. I'm pretty flexible with my time if you want to grab a coffee.

cheers,
James

Hi Randall, great! Looks like there is some movement here... so I think we should all meet up somewhere. How is your schedule for next week?

Hi everyone,

I see this group is a little old, but I wanted to know if you managed to get a group together!

I danced a lot when I was younger, and I have recently started classes again. However, I really love performance and would love to meet you all.

Let me know!

Best,

Rebecca.
