canoeing at Rushing River in Ontario this weekend
anybody up for a canoeing trip at Rushing River in Ontario this weekend (May long weekend)? departure from Winnipeg tomorrow at about 7:00 am (per agreement), arrival back to Winnipeg Monday evening.
We Drive 220km to 11km Sth of the bridge over Rushing River (Prov Park, ON). There is a camp/lodge called Luther Village here where we start.
First we do a 30km car shuttle to Berry Lake Road. Leave 1 car.
The route is about 58 km (we can make it shorter if we decide to), has a few portages, and takes us onto Dryberry Lake, which has some Native pictographs on some rocks. We go along the Berry River between lakes.
we are looking for a fourth person to fill a second canoe. the person needs their own tent or bivy bag, sleeping bag and camping gear. it would be convenient if they could take their car too (we would then have two people in each car and share the costs).
more people are very welcome too, but they need to have their own canoes / kayaks (can be rented in MEC or Wilderness supply).
