Travel Help?
Posted December 10th, 2012 - 8:52 am by from Palm Beach Gardens, United States (Permalink)
Hello all, I'm planning to travel to St. John's, Newfoundland from Maine (around next May). Car rental and airplane are both too expensive for me.

If anyone can give me even a little information of public transportation from Maine into New Brunswick, and/or from New Brunswick to Sydney, Nova Scotia, It'd be a great help.

This is the first and only big trip I'd be able to take for a long time before school really starts to kick in, and is kind of important to me, so any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

There is no real cheap way to travel in the maritimes...
The bus company, Acadian Lines, just shut down, but I heard another company is taking over, with less busses and routes (if that's ever possible).

Check out maritimerideshare.com they often have people offering long distance rides.

Also, check the flight prices from Maine to Halifax, as silly as it sounds, it's sometimes cheaper than the bus.

Good luck!

Between that and rideshare I'd be able to find a way. I'll look up plane tickets as well, thanks a bunch!
