Hello Liliana, congratulations for the adventure you are about to begin, welcome to Mexico City, when you get into town I offer help and advises depending on the area where you go to live and work if you already have that information.

Hello Liliana

Well I have a lot of things in mind, but I guess the most important are about your communication skills; I know portuguese and spanish are somehow similar, but how well can you manage in a country with a different language? I can see in your profile that you're starting to learn spanish, and that U havne't really being abroad, so I hope it won't be too hard to manage.

Then, I'd wonder how easy or hard is for you to cope with things that are so different, like being in one of the biggest cities in the world. Do u already know where U will be living/working ? Distances in Mexico city are huge (I'm originally from there and know the city well), so keep that in mind.

Last, Mexico, Mexico city and being away from home are great experiences, enjoy, relax, and trust yourself; you'll be fine. Did't want to scare you, instead, I want you to be ready so U can have a better time while in here. Anything else U need to know be more specific and go ahead, ask !!

Hugs from Mexico !

Hola Liliana

You will find that Mexico is a big and great country. With a lot of culture, traditional and modern everywhere. Also you will find millions of friendly mexicans, gladly to show you how cool is our country, and with a great sense of humor (we make fun of everything, except our own mothers).

Mexico is a country with a lot of resources, including tons of social work to do, cool for you.
Let me tell you that I have some friends that are social workers, they are a united group so they can help you to understand the kind of world you are going to work in.
I'll send you the mail of my closest social worker friends, so you can contact him if you want.

Something that I love from my country is the food. We have an extensive own cuisine. Do you know tacos? sure you do, but do you know there is more than 40 types of tacos? But that is just snacks. We have real entire meals. Hope you like hot & spicy food, and meat. And also there are fruits all the year and their are cheap!

It will be great for Mexico having you here. Godspeed.

Hy Ly,

I can introduce you to good friends and help you with any question you have.

It is like any other city, but you have to be somewhat careful at nights.

I recommend travelling by metrobus, there's also free bikes at Av. Reforma, is a great service from a good hearted philantropher.

I would love to know more about the volunteer work you're going to do.

I can recommend you nice areas to live as well.

Send me a message with any question you have.

Best Wishes,
Alma
