Help wanted
Posted September 5th, 2010 - 5:50 pm by from Manchester, England (Permalink)
Hi all,

I will be visiting Vancouver at the beginning of October (2-5 maybe) and wanted some tips on bars and beers to try.

If anyone is around for a few beers that would be even better.

Also if anyone has a free couch in that time that would be even more perfect. (There are 2 of us, check profile for details.)

Any replies appreciated.

Cheers

David

Hi Vicky,

The best place in the city for beer is The Alibi Room. Period. Make sure you chat with Nigel (the owner), he's an awesome guy.

St. Augustine's also has a great selection with 40 taps.

My favorite local brewpubs are Yaletown Brewing and Steamworks. Some local breweries to keep your eyes open for are Storm and R&B.

A new cask is tapped on certain nights at some local pubs:
Monday @ St. Augustine's (6pm)
Tuesday @ Railway Club (6pm)
Thursday @ Yaletown Brewery (4pm)
Sunday @ The Whip (4pm)

For more links to what's going on in the local beer scene, check out the CAMRA website:

I'm not in Vancouver at the moment, but hopefully someone else can join you for a pint. Enjoy!
