visiting Bp! Suggestion, Tips and guidance needed!
Posted May 14th, 2012 - 8:14 am by from Beijing, China (Permalink)
hi there,
My Name is Aaron, living in Beijing. I planed to visit Hungary around 2nd Augest 2012 with my girlfriend. My whole plan is visiting 3 countries (Hungary, Czech & Poland) at 15 days, also my round flight place is Frankfurt (unfortunately).
I am doing my research as usual, but info is overwhelming to a none-EU-travel-EXP person.

*the following is my thought, but i am opened to any other suggestion:

Budapest is definitely my first stop & favor city. I would love to visit those not-that-wellknown-but-more-interesting places of the city. Do you have any suggestion? And how many days i should stay? info of Inn? How about the renting a bike?

also, i want to visit 1 or 2 other places(small quiet town/city) of Hungary before i head to Prague. The spot might be relative to Wine.

Heard there is a train between Bp & Prague very well preserved (52 hours per trip)? What is it called? how much is the ticket?

Besides, i am a semi-professional photographer, architecture, nature/landscape, culture are my favor. If there is an art district in Bp, i would love to drop by.

Any CSer has time to show us around or have a coffee/tea would be good too.

Best Wishes,
Aaron

Hi Aaron,

about towns related to wine. you should go to Eger (besides wine it is also very charming small town) and northern part of Lake Balaton or Tokaj.
When u arrive to Bp u will see a lot of places where u can rent bikes.
Budapest art district? Falk Miksa street close to Danube (Pest side of Margarite island, not far aways from the Parliament). u should at least spend 2 days in Bp. although touristy, go to the castle. u might wanna try out some spas (Kiraly or Rudas, those r not that touristy)

good luck
