Hitchhiking from Barcelona to Andaluzia :)
Posted January 4th, 2012 - 6:36 pm by from Berlin, Germany (Permalink)
Hello ! :)

I would like to hitch hike from Barcelona to the South of Spain.

Barcelona- Tarragona- Valencia- Alicante- Murcia- Almeria- Malaga -( San Pedro de Alcantara)

I have never been in this cities, and I would like to visit all of them and spend in every city 2 or 3 days to visit them.

It is gonna be my first hitch hiking for long distance and I would be glad for any advice.

I am also searching somebody who would come with me or part of it because many people sad I should not hitch hike alone.

I would like to leave from Barcelona on the 15 or 16 of January.

Hello Narcisz!

I Hitch-hiked this way a cuple days ago but I started from South... It was really strange. With my boyfriend we spend more than 2 days and 2 nights on the way from Algercias (port) to Barcelona.
Here, in Catalunya autostop is ok, the places from BCN are very good and normaly I wait 5-15 minutes. Arround Valencia also we hadn't any problem, but the time of waiting was more than 1 hour. Really strange it is in Andaluzia. The people don't have a custom to pick up someone who stend on the road with signs, I heard about it from other hitchhikkers, people who live in Andalusia and now - I know it myself. It's difficult, but not impossible :)
you need have lot's of patience, smile on your face and belive that you are waiting for the best car with the best driver.

Check hitchwiki.org, there is a map with the pleces where you can HH and also a information about regions and the cities where are you going.

If you would like visit every city HH is ok, you don't have long distance between then, but think about come back.
Ask people on the gas station, this is your chance :) If you talk with them, smile, and you are nice someone finlly pick up you. Be carfull - the gas station should be big, with lots of cars, restaurant and even a hotel if you need change a car.

I hope it will be helpfull for you.
Cheers and enjoy your trip :)
