Public sharing-van in Centre Java
Posted July 1st, 2011 - 7:08 am by from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia (Permalink)
Dear All:
I have been to Yogya in March, and being share by the local
host of traveling with this wonderful public sharing-van. I found it
comfortable and no hassle at all.

RAMA SAKTI operates in most of the town in centre Java...
yogya-megelang-wonosobo-malang-Jakarta-Bandung. You may perhaps travel from Wonosobo directly to Malang, but of cause it’s a long
journey.

Well, I paid about IDR45,000 (USD5+) from wonosobo to yogyakarta. Its door to
door service which the price included the IDR10,000 for direct-pick-up.

Have a look of their website as below link:

do you know how to see sunrise in Candi Borobudur? how much for that ?

Posted July 5th, 2011 - 7:47 am by from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia (Permalink)
hello Iwan:

I didn't go for the sunrise in Candi Borobudur. If you stay in Jogjakarta, you have to wake up in the 3 am, in the middle of the mist.
Probably, it's still dark. It will take 50 minutes driving by car from Yogya.

Probably you can go for self drive or hire a driver for A Day Trip all around Yogya, go the interesting places like, Candi Borobudur, Candi Prambanan and Candi Ratu Boko.

There are 2 options to see sunrise @ candi Borobudur,
1.The entrance to Borobudur in the morning/sunrise is exclusively belong to Manohara hotel (it's inside the gate of Borobudur park) To get in, you have to pay IDR 200,000 for Indonesian and IDR 300,000. Personally, i think it's very ridiculous because it's just some sort of bribe to get the hotel's satpam wake up early in the morning and open the gate for us. But if you willing to pay for that amount than no drama.
2.Drive up to the hill and around aman jiwo hotel and just lurking around there for free sunrise. :) the downside of this trick is you won't really get clear view of it. :D
cheers,
Agie

Hai all,
How are you ?
Thanks for the reply & information. maybe i will skip the sunrise in Manohara hotel, because it's out of my budget :(
I will rent motorbike in Yogya, maybe that the cheaper faster and flexible way to explore Yogya.

Thanks :D

Hi Iwan!
That's definitely a better way to explore Yogya. You could rent motorbike for IDR 30,000 for manual and IDR 45,000 for matic/day.
Have fun n stay safe.
Cheers,
Agie.

sorry mate. just got chance to online here, @Amin, i'm not sure if my late reply will still be useful, but hey, might as well answer it now eh, technically, as a foreigner or just traveling for short period of time in indonesia, you're required to have international driving license, however, in reality they will just let you go by showing your passport and pay the rent in advance.
cheers,
Agie.
