Hi Elena,
Happy new year.

Well, Nigeria is a nice country
with spectacular sights, but animals?
hmmm, i know we have plenty of cats ,dogs, fishes, chickens
my dad use to have a farm full of pigs, chickens, turkeys, goats.
But he's not in that line of business anymore.
I also know the harmful ones are in the zoo.
i'll keep tabs on org that do african trips
if anything comes up, i'll let you know.

Meanwhile, i'll be coming to Bologna soon.
hopefully, we can meet
DO take care
ciao.

Hi there !

I just wanted to know if it's quite safe to do some hitchiking in Nigeria? is it easy to cross the borders ?

Thanks !

It is quite easy to cross the the boarders but very dangerous. There have been a lot of rebels within and around the Nigeria boarders recently. A French family was kidnapped few weeks ago around the Cameroon - Nigeria boarders.

I would not advice a hitch hiking during this period due to the ongoing conflicts in some African countries.

thanks for the answer. My plan was to go for a long term trip in Africa, without taking a plane, from morocco to Madagascar but the area Niger/Nigeria/Cameroun/Tchad seems to be unsafe...

For sure I know there are lots of rebels around Niger and kidnapping has been common there. The recent kidnap within the Cameroon-Nigeria boarder was new but it could happen again. So you better be careful.

Nonetheless hitch hiking in Africa is not the best and it isn't very safe especially for foreigners. But hey go for it and do the trip but avoid hitch hiking.
