Hi Sravanthi,

I'm going to be in Los Angeles/Ojai (Ojai is about 45 minutes from SB) the same dates that you are going to be there.

I can't drive out there with you, but if you want to meet up for some fun in Santa Barbara, let me know! I'll drive over there and we can find something to do. Santa Barbara is really pretty and I grew up around there so I should be able to help find things to do. And, I can drive if we need to go somewhere where a car is necessary.

Contact me if you're interested!

Cheers,
Kasey

Hey Sravanthi,
I'm not sure what you mean by 'driving to Santa Barbara', but if you are suggesting driving from here, that will definitely cost more than flying for 2 people in a car. It's a great road trip - I've done it - but it will take you 3 days just to get to SB, and the gas costs combined with wear on car and food costs will definitely add up to more than a flight to LA.
The best option is to fly to LA. LA has the cheapest tickets for any of the airports in that region. And then there are many affordable road connections (buses, shuttles) to Santa Barbara.

BTW, it goes down to the 40s in SB in winter, and homes aren't well insulated, so it can get chilly inside. Take some good clothing with you. Honestly, I'd have taken you up on the offer if I was in the country during that time. I've only spent a few days at a time there. There's some great wine to be had in the mountains behind SB, and the food in town is good, albeit expensive. The beach is good to go sit at, but you can't really swim - water is chilling cold all through the year. The drive along the Pacific Coast Highway from SB to Monterey is the prettiest road I've ever driven on. I try to drive that stretch every time I'm in CA.

Hope you make it there and get to explore the region.

@Kasey

Thanks a ton! It would be fun to have company to explore SB with :). Let's exchange numbers soon?

@Rudrava

Thanks for your extremely practical advice, as always :). Would have been awesome if you were around too, maybe next time.
