statitics sucks and is totally irrelevent

Im fed up with the stats I have to fill in each time I add a friend, does i trust him this much that much or just a little bit much.

I can tell you that you wont get any reliable stats from me (and many others i suspect) because I only point with my mouse fastest as i can and dont care what i fill in. It\s impossibe for me to rate people in such a way and im totally clueless to what good this information is gonna do CS as a collective and me as an individual.. expecielly since i doubt youll get any useful data out of it anyway.

Please get rid of all the extras from couchsurfing and keep it simplistic for the simple purpose of surfing couches. Or atleast give me a choice to not fill in all the extra datas that i dont wanna.

otherwise im happy for the existence of CS.

i'm guessing that someone on the couchsurfing team is doing a research project for university - it's not reallly important if the info is accurate as long as the response rate is high

Please let me agree, this big brother trend is slightly annoying...

Thanks Mathias for this suggestion of having the choice to fill it or not.

That way, if only poeple who want to fill it do it, it will be more reliable.

The fact that it's anonimous makes it also more reliable, I believe. And a reliable information about how good you know and trust the poeple is a crucial information for the whole system.

Also if everybody knew what will be done with those data's it would also increase the interest to fill it in correctly and so be more reliable. By the way, does anybody have a clue?

yeah i agree i find it annoying too... i cannot rate someone's trust as I just met this person,I mean do I trust him somewhat or a little, what's the bloody difference?
I would suggest there is only I trust the person/ i don't trust the person.
I have no idea where these stats are going anyway, as we never see the results of it and it doesn't help to choose a potential host or guest as we don't see the results...
until someone explains it to me
