Salut Karla (and friends),

There is plenty to do here in Boston -- so you shouldn't be disappointed!

As far as partying goes, I guess it would depend on what your "scene" is.

Downtown boston clubs are known more for mainstream music and techno, though there are some exceptions

If you are more into live music (alternative, underground, jazz), i would recommend coming across the river to Cambridge. Check out The Middle East in Central Square, The Plough and the Stars on Mass Ave, or some place in Harvard Square like the Hong Kong, Tommy Doyles Pub, Oberon, or Club Passim (small, intimate live music venue). The Lizard Lounge beneath Cambridge Common bar on Mass Ave is also a popular live music place.

There is a karaoke place in Cambridge called Courtside Bar & Karaoke on Cambridge St which is also pretty popular. I would also recommend a super cheap but nice bar on the Harvard campus called Queen's Head Bar. Cheap drinks!

Romantic? Hm, i'm not so good with that. However, some tend to think that the North End (our version of Little Italy) can be quaint and romantic.

I could write tons about where you should go, but, please feel free to ask for specific things, and i'd be happy to recommend based off of that.

If you guys would be interested in hanging out with a local, feel free to give me a call and see if I'm free :) 617*501*2763

Have a great time here!

Welcome! Looks like I joined too late for the Saturday party, but Broo gave you real good advice on the music front. Here are some cool things to check out:

Nightlife:

- Go to Drink
Drink is a bar near the Financial District - not exactly a "party" spot but some of the best cocktails you can have anywhere. Super cool spot.

- THROWED
This Tuesday 11/15 is a monthly party that the Middle East (a venue in Cambridge) hosts called THROWED. It's an electro/dubstep party at a rock club, DJs spinning, sometimes gets a bit crazy. It's very close to my house, so I'll be there probably. Send me a message if you and your friends want to join.

Romantic spots:

Wander the North End and eating at little Italian Restaurants. Get Moroccan at Tangierino's in Charlestown (and if you smoke hookah there is a hookah bar underground - very cool). Walk the Charles River near the Charles MGH T-stop towards Mass. Ave. - gorgeous around sunset and it's still warm enough to not be uncomfortable.

Things to See:

Don't miss during the day: Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, walking Newbury Street and Harvard Square.
