party under 21?

Hey ho!

me and a couple of friends are going to visit sweet Boston for the first time as part of a little college tour down the east coast.
Now this is not the first time for us in the states but until now we were more used to rural areas and especially not the east coast. So we're pretty much up2date with the laws and cultural sorroundings, but here's our problem:

It came to our ears that Boston party scene (especially clubbing) is pretty much dead if you're under 21. Now we have no problem with staying off beer and boose for a few weeks, but no partying/dancing? that sounds pretty tough as we're from a pretty much liberal place (even for central euro standards) where people start partying and also clubbing at 15/16 and bars generally dont give a thing on age.

Now again: we respect the alcohol-law for public partys and can understand that club-owners dont want to make the effort sorting out the younger folks, but my question to you all:
Do you know of clubs or nice bars in Boston city where you can dance/have a great time under the age of 21?

thanks ahead everybody and a nice week!
tobi

ps: our ++ music would be house/electronic/techno but we're pretty much ok with anything as long as we dont have to stay home all night :D

I think Avalon is usually 18+, though I'm not 100%.

I just realized that this was posted a while ago but this will be for people in the future. Yeah I am 19 and there is no where to club in Boston. The Avalon was 18 plus but it is not closed and being changed into an other club or something. I say go to Providence, becaus eit has a great club scene and every where is 18 plus. Its only about 45 minutes away and you can take a train.

What about just going to the bars, my friend is only 20 and he would be fine with not drinking, but the rest of our group would like to have a couple of beers?

2 places but they are music venues with a bar and restaurant.

Middle East or The Paradise Rock Club.

You can also try both JJ Foley's they can be laid back at times.
