★ June CS Tuesday Dinners, Drinks @ Life Cafe - 50% off ★
Posted June 21st, 2011 - 5:22 am by from Melbourne, Australia (Permalink)
We've have some great times over the last few months on Tuesdays at Life Cafe, but it just seems to keep getting better.

Works so much better when the community takes ownership of the event. Thank you so much to all of you who came and invited other friends/ surfers/ hosts to come out and have a great time!

Can't wait to see everyone Tuesday !

CS has a super deal at Life Cafe. Just show up and tell the waitress that you're with couch surfing. The first 20 couch surfers or hosts get $10 off their bill of $20 or more. In addition, there are amazing Happy Hour specials all night, that can be used by everyone. (See details below)

Please rsvp so that the restaurant has an idea of how many people to plan for.

PLEASE HELP!! After you rsvp, find 3 to 10 interesting travelers, and invite them to come. Look on your home screen for nearby travelers, click on more travelers, and pick surfers who have logged in near New York in the last few hours/ couple days. Most people enjoy meeting travelers from all over the world. Let's invite all travelers to share a meal or drinks with the CS New York community. SO LET'S DO THIS TOGETHER!!

Good cheap food

Good cheap beer/drinks

Good cheap people... er I mean cool CSers from NY and around the world sharing a meal or drinks at a NY classic

As summer draws closer, Life Cafe is increasingly hoping on Tuesdays, together with a bunch of cool travelers and New Yorkers. The outdoor tables and patio courtyard will be great with this amazing summer weather.

Come on out and celebrate with a bunch of awesome CSers.

Come for dinner or just come for drinks and a good crowd, or break out the board games.

Life Cafe has $10 pitchers of beer (normally $23-$27) on Tuesdays 7-10pm - which have recently included Brooklyn Lager, a Checkered Cab pour, a Belgian pale ale - Liquid Gold, Negra Modelo, and others - all very different but awesome. Beyond that, if you get there early, you can get $10 off $20 worth of food and drinks. Happy Hour: before 7pm and after 10pm all alcoholic drinks are $2 off.

Every night. Remember this awesome late night happy hour deal in the East Village when you want to pre-game. (ie as low as $1 for PBR cans after 10 pm).

Small print:

The first 20 people to show up and pay their tab get $10 off $20 worth of food and drinks, starting at 7pm first come, first served. CSers are welcome to stay until last call and continue to have drinks with friends, even after paying for dinner. Must rsvp to be eligible for the promotion. $10 pitchers and happy hour specials, are available to everyone that shows up, but cannot be combined with the amazing couch surfing special (50% off).

Now the food:
The consensus is that people are enjoying the updated menu at Life Cafe. Fewer items. Better taste. Burgers (vegan ones too), Life Quinoa Stirfry, Grilled Hanger Steak, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Mac-n-Cheese, Quesadilla, Mega Burrito, Cobb Salad, Chili (meat or veggie), and much more.

They have lots of great veggie and meaty food options, including numerous vegan menu items or substitutions.
Check out their food and drink menus here: http://lifecafe.com/foodanddrink/east-village/

Don't forget to break out the board games: Apples to Apples, Scatergories, Uno, poker playing cards, etc.

Also, the Broadway musical RENT was originally written in a booth at Life Cafe. The cafe even appears in the musical/movie. The place has some cool history, and is a destination spot. Come out and experience a NY classic.

Please RSVP.

Hope to see all you CSers there - if you have any questions just ask.
