Article about CS Rio de Janeiro

Ola gente de Rio!!

I'm Jan, from Belgium. I'm travelling around South America and working as a travel journalist, writing for Belgian newspapers and magazines. This Wednesday I'll arrive in Rio de Janeiro, to experience the carnival, write a travel story about Rio and the Costa Verde, and to write an article about CouchSurfing in Rio!

The CouchSurfing community in Rio is one the most active and vivid one's in the world and that's why it's definitely worth writing an article about the people - ambassadors, members and travelers - who make this community work. In the article I want to point out how CouchSurfing creates new and special opportunities for travellers who want to experience other countries and cultures in an authentic way, getting away from touristy dorms, hotels and travel agents.
That's why I would love to meet you people, hear your experiences with CouchSurfing and hear about the good bars, cultural events and hidden spots (the more particular, the better!) in and around Rio. I want to make this article work, so if I keep on finding places to stay, I will be around Rio for a few weeks, to get to know different people and neighborhoods.

I will arrive in Rio this Wednesday. If you want to meet up with me and/or if you can host me for one or a few nights, it would be great to hear from you! I know it's last minute, but it would also be great if someone could offer me a couch or a space on the floor for one or two nights during the carnival. There's no better way to point out how CS is a great alternative to high scale expensive tourism. But if you can host or meet me only before or after the carnival, that's great too!

I guess I'm not supposed to write couchrequests here, I'm sorry, but I want to reach as many people as possible with this message. I'm writing this message in English because my Portuguese writing is pretty crappy, but I do speak Portuguese and you can respond me in Portuguese without any problem.

Looking forward to meet you all!
greetz,
Jan
