teaching English and work with children in the East of Kazakhstan
Posted June 6th, 2013 - 5:46 am by from Tekirdag, Turkey (Permalink)
Hi guys!
My name is Ainura. I'm a teacher of English in Semey (East Kazakhstan).
I live in the place which is not touristic one and only rare tourists find their ways to pass Semey on their way to Russian Siberia when they find out about this city with population of more than 300 000 people. the city is considered to be cultural heritage of Kazakhstan and the birthplace of many talented people like Abay (Kazakh writer) and Roza Rymbayeva (Kazakh singer with strong voice). The city was founded in 1718 ,when the Russians built a fort beside the river Irtysh, near a ruined Buddhist monastery. The monastery's seven buildings lent the fort (and later the city) the name Semipalatinsk (Russian for Seven-Chambered City). Semey is also famous for its numerous museums and theatres. the population of Semey consists of Kazakhs, Russians, Tatars and Germans.
From Wikipedia: Modern Semey is a bustling university town with a population exceeding 300,000. Its proximity to the border, and the large expatriate scientific community attached to the university and the STS labs, gives Semey a more Russian character than other Kazakh cities.- Definitely true!!!
As there many Universitites and about 42 schools in town, the major populalation is young people, who wish to learn English, unfortunately, there isn't English speaking community for them and they practice their English only at the English lessons twice a week. :(
I'd like to launch a project with you guys, wishing to esperience teaching English and experience Kazakh hospitality. The materials and teaching things will be provided by my organization, as well as accomodation and food. I don't know yet how to plan all these things, but it'll work soon I hope, so now I need those interested in coming here and explore the country. Please let me know if you're interested...

P.s: duration is 2 months.
regards,

Ainura
