Of the countries you mention I have only been to Samoa. it is a great country to visit since it is not completely spoiled by Western Resorts. You can stay in basic huts on the beach with a couple of meals a day for about $60/day. Your are literally metres from the beach. Outside of Apia (the only town of size) it is very basic.

Vanuatu is very expensive and heavily touristy. A strong french influence there. Likewise Fiji is very expensive and touristy. This may be your taste ; then it would suit

Tonga is another unspoiled South Pacific Island. They too have had their unrest. Much of Nukulofa was burnt during riots about 4 years ago. Not sure how the rebuilding went.

Air Pacific is a Fijian airline. They are usually regarded as very expensive; though no doubt because of their political woes, they are desperate for tourists/travellers.

Usually it is hard to "island hop" since most airlines hub through New Zealand or Australia. The bula pass sounds like a good option.

This is only my point of view; with limited experience of the islands.

Here is a website that lists all sorts of airlines that fly to and/or within the South Pacific as well as air passes:

http://www.southpacific.org/air.html

I used this site quite a bit.

Hi Alex!

I think we were talking in another thread.

My plans are also fixed so far, but we only will be in Fiji at the same time.

I'll be in Fiji from 2nd to 6th, the Kiribati until 15th and then I go to Samoa for a week.
