exploring australia for free - camping, hitch-hiking, looking for some people up for the same thing!

Hi,

I'm Emma, I'm 19 and from the UK.

I came to Australia with not a lot of money and I've already gone through about a third of it just on hostels and food and I'm starting to realise that everything is way too expensive for me. Most of my money was only spent in he last two weeks.

Basically I want to travel around Australia for as little money as possible - buying/finding cheap food, getting around by hitch-hiking and dodging barriers at train stations, camping under the stars etc. etc.

Just generally being a bit trampish.

I came to Australia with a huge rucksack which weighs a ton and I've realised now unnecessary almost everything I have in it is. I'm currently transferring essential (for me) stuff into a much, much smaller rucksack - change of clothes, camera with some rolls of film, sketchbook, passport, purse.

I really want to do this but I can't do it on my own. It's half a safety thing and half because I want the company of some interesting, like-minded people. I'm in Australia until August so I've got a lot of time to do this and hopefully you'll become a friend for life!

If you are up for this just let me know. I want to leave ASAP because like I said - I'm running out of money incredibly quickly.

Contact me on here or send a message to emma-schroeder@hotmail.co.uk

Speak to you soon!

Hi Emma,

I may be able to help you with some rides. I'm landing in Brisbane Feb. 4th and will be in AU for 3 months, going to Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth/Freo, Sydney, back to Brisbane.

I bought a used van and plan to camp in natl parks as well as Couch Surf.

Take care - Jim
