Guys I would like to ask you for your opinion as the locals.

I supposed to go to Fiji for holidays last Saturday but we didn't go due to the cyclone which I think was a good decision.

Now, I really want to go to Fiji for my holidays but I find it difficult to find any info whether it's ok to go now (Saturday) or Fiji is not the best place to be now? Do you think the turisty places like Yasawas, coral coast, pacific harbour, Rakiraki etc are ok now, few days after the cyclone? or is it a war zone and holidays there won't be the best idea? I will really appreciate your opinion on this one! Thanks a lot!

I am at Pacific Harbour for moment and its fine here the cyclone didnt go here. I think only place thats you cant go for the moment its Yasawas, because of rough seas.

Some islands in the Mamanuca,s and some in the Yasawas are open. Things are still abit of a mess but the beaches and still very good.

I just left,

If you are planning to go to some of the islands outside the main land Fiji it will be very difficult as communication with the west islands is interrupted and it's very hard to find any information even being there wouldn't make any difference. If you are staying in the main land, you should be able to enjoy your vacation especially if you are going to the East part of the island which was hardly affected by the hurricane.

I hope you enjoy your vacation if you end up going

Agreeing with the previous comments. I live in Suva. Was meant to go to an island in the Mamanucas for Christmas, but have changed it to the Coral Coast.

The areas you could have difficulty are the Mamanuca Islands, the Yasawa Islands, Rakiraki, Vanua Levu (the second-largest island). There are some resorts in the Nadi area which are affected.
The Coral Coast through to Suva is mostly fine.
