Group Deletion

@Gabor

Please don't take it personally but this group will be deleted.

I noticed you have created lots of groups in different places. In Rio de Janeiro we have lots of subgroups with no message exchanging for years, although most of them were created with the best intentions.

As groups under the "Places" categories must serve as a channel to actively and continually promote the interaction and presencial meet-ups with locals and travelers, we have decided together as a group to ask anyone to talk to the moderators before creating a group (it's in Rio de Janeiro Group Guidelines: http://www.couchsurfing.org/group.html?gid=1234&guidelines=1).

You don't need a group in Rio de Janeiro for that idea. When you come here just open a thread on the main group and invite people to take part in the event, ok? That would make Rio de Janeiro group stronger and can attract more people to join the cooking event.

Hope you all understand and if you have anything to say, we can discuss.

Cheers,

Rafael & Rio CS Team.

Dear Cooksurfers,

I can not say I agree with your position for this newly active group. Can't we consider as active a groupe that gained members regularly during the last weeks¿

Gabor might be wherever in the world, but not in Rio, and not trully active on this group. Maybe it s a prb for you to have a moderator that is not in Rio anymore..but the wish to share our culture by cooking is something that I am not ready to share with the first one that see a post about cooksurfing, and want to "participate" in the event, when it s true intention is ( too often) to take advantage of good food at low price ( when they dont forget to share the cost of this events), all the process of this events ( buying, preparing, cooking, cleaning...). My only experience here in Rio was in Felipe s house, last april: a trully great feijoada at his Mum's place. But I was so astonished to see how few we were, 4 from a group of over 40, to leave the house clean when all these people were enjoying the event few hours before.

I have to say that couchsurfing is not always everything for everybody: the ones that joined this group firstly found it because they had in interest for food/cook. The group will become more active in a near future with all this new members and events that we were about to celebrate fopr 1st time.

As in any pot, a lot of thing can be add and melt to make it a delicious plate of the day. So please all members of Riocooksurfing are invited to opinate too about the position of Rio CS moderators and team.

Hopefully you enjoyed your Xmas diner..

Merry Xmas to all, and see u soon in Rio.

Best regards from Buenos AIres

Fabien
