English/Chinese Translator + Project Management

I need an experienced Translator (English/Chinese) + Project Analyst to be based in HK.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high profile department in corporate development and M&A within the organisation, dealing with extremely interesting issues covering a wide variety of different companies and countries.

We are looking for someone with the flexibility of skills and experience to be able to add value to several of the projects they run simultaneously. The team also has a general need for translation (Chinese/English) of various market reports.

Supporting all members of the Asia Development division, you will perform English/Chinese (and vice versa) to mother tongue standard linguistic tasks including translation, editing, proofreading and quality assurance checks. You will assist translation and interpretation in conference calls and business meetings.

Project Management
You will structure project management work, ensuring that right tasks happen at the right time and critical paths are clearly understood. You will also organise tours and events for visiting senior personnel from internal and external companies we have invited to the region. You will be assisting in ad-hoc projects when required such as basic research, presentation preparations/translations, and other works as required by the team.

You should be degree qualified with a major in translation, language or other relevant disciplines, and have 3 years or above experience in translation of professional documents (legal/financial e.t.c.). You will obviously require an excellent command of both English and Chinese, verbal and written. If Simultaneous translation ability is a good to have but not a must. You should have strong computer literacy – MS Word, PowerPoint and a basic level of MS Excel. Extremely strong writing skills and attention to detail, and strong organisational abilities. Previous event management experiences will be useful. Occasional travel (to Mainland China and other countries) will be required.
