03, Mar. Hungarian Moustache [Sunday Evening Documentary]
Join us for an evening with a cup of coffee or a beer and something valuable to watch! We are friends get-together from time to time so the event is free of charge.
This Sunday from 6.30pm (18:30):
Kovács Kristóf: Full of Grease
2007, 63 min.
Lajos Balogh lives in one of the most deprived region of Hungary, in the Ormánság. And the love for this region lives in Lajos Balogh. He is wedded to this region where, as a Gypsy, he cannot find permanent employment from the early ‘90s. But he never gives up. He forms a team from the local pigstickers and enters an international pigsticker competition held at the other end of Hungary.
Lakos Nóra: Hungarian Moustache
2012, 39 min.
Hungarian Moustache is about a group of Hungarian patriots who identify themselves through their mustache. Mustache in general is a symbol of manhood and patriotism for them. But the big and bushy Hungarian mustache is even more: it is a style that appears in the European Mustache Championship as an official category. The only problem is that these strong patriots who consider themselves the most authentic, could never win in their own category so far. Because there is a German guy, called Günter Rosin who is unstoppable in Hungarian style in the last ten years. The stake if the Hungarians could win this time?!
We encourage everyone to stay after the screenings for an informal conversation with the director of the Hungarian Moustache, and hopefully with Judit Stalter, producer of Full of Grease, so we could get some really interesting information about nowdays Hungarian documentaries.
