New CS DC Photographer
Posted August 3rd, 2012 - 2:30 pm by from Springfield, United States (Permalink)
Hi All,

I am new to the CS community, and just familiarizing myself with the site and people on here. I am a fine art photographer in DC, hoping to take my camera(s) along with me on a road trip across the country and back this fall!

Has anyone here done something like that? Would love to hear your experiences.

Any photo meet ups coming up soon?

Hi Jen,

I'm also new to CS and DC area, and I just recent discover my passion for a photography, after I came back from Istanbul. I'm down if u like to meet up for a coffee. It would be really cool for all the DC photographers to meet up, if possible, because I would like to meet n learn from people who share the same passion :)

Good to see there is bit more activity on this group. Welcome Jenn to CS and Kevin to DC & CS & photography :). I am a photographer myself.

Jenn, I wish I could do a cross country trip but I can't. I have done many shorter (like 10 to 20 days) international trips though and they are always fun.

There are no photo meet ups here on DC couch surfing. But you can find many on meetup.com and I have done a few with them. I am always up for day trips on weekends, going to wherever within driving distance and shooting along the way, or meeting up to discuss all things photography :).

Hi Prateek!
My friends and photographers get together and go on a photo shoot to interesting places in the city of Krasnoyarsk (Russia). I will be in Washington DC from 21 to 24 October and 8 November to 18 November this year. Let's do a photo shoot photography enthusiasts in the city suburbs of Washington.
I am pleased to participate in this party!
I look forward to meeting and reviews!

hey guys... i've been thinking of doing a series of night photography in the DC area. Maybe we can plan something when Alexander is in town?

Hey Jenn - I haven't done a road trip across the US with my camera yet, but I did do a backpacking trip through part of Japan this past Feb-March and that was awesome. Got tons of photos that I really love. :) It was awesome and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Just b/c this group hasn't organised meet-ups doesn't mean it can't/shouldn't be done. Even if it is just for photog socialising. I'd be up for it. :) When I lived in Okinawa I met regularly with a group of other photogs and enthusiasts for monthly coffee chats. It was great and I miss it.
