get your thinking cloves on

Ok- I will share an idea.... after a beautiful sunny day, basking in the warm sunshine at lunch in a short sleeved top, lovin' it.... then as today was approaching tomorrow walking home from the pub and sneezing my short sleeve not enough under a light jacket....Mmmmm I always get caught on the change of the seasons with a spring cold. So this gets me thinking of an idea for a spring potluck- going to give you a bit of notice for this one because I want some effort.

Garlic potluck!

http://www.garlicfestival.ca/mgc.html

I heard of this festival while on a road trip in BC and was intrigued because they even have garlic deserts!

So if your game I'm putting it out there for fun. But I don't expect garlic bread- unless you kneaded that bread by hand and churned your own butter!

When: Sunday 2nd May, from 6.30pm

Where: My place in Mount Pleasant (unless it gets more than 15 very interested people and/or someone else offers a house- you know mine is not big).

What to bring: own plate and cutlery, a bottle of wine and a garlic dish that you are practicing to submit to the garlic festival cook off! :)

sounds like a great idea to me too! I'm working that evening until about 7:30... hopefully I can pop by a bit later, but I'll have to see how the day goes.
... maybe I'll try and bring a garlic dessert too...

I have a made a Greek lamb dish once used 4 heads of garlic for a four person dish! I nearly died. but it was sublime- and strangely none of us smelt of garlic the next day possibly because it was cooked for 8 hours?!

sorry- I was thinking Sunday the 1st, just because it might make it easier for people to prepare dishes- but happy for Monday if that works better for more people- my dish is prepare ahead anyway....

Yep- looks like Sunday. Just to let those know who have not been here before my kitchen/basement is tiny almost a bedsit. I have (nearly) all the tools you need to create great food though and my oven will be free- my dish will be prepared ahead of time so I will not be needing the space. but be warned it is a good one person kitchen- so ? best to prepare before you come but your choice. if you can work in tight spaces you take the chance of everyone wanting the room- I'm not fussed as I will generally be out of there.

So far we look to have 9 people - so if we have any more takers people will need to bring chairs.
