1988 toyota lite ace van 180,000 k's

For sale is a 1988 Toyota Lite Ace van, white, great condition. $3,700. 4 speed column shift manual (fun to drive!) Only a 50L tank so i recommend carrying jerry cans, however goes 350 k's on 40L even with a load!

best of all, only 180,000 k's!!! Rego expires oct '12 (NT). So confident in it's condition that i'll provide roadworthy inspection if it's required in your state.

I've lovingly owned this van for 2 years, and driven ~5,000 k's in it.

i bought it off two backpackers who only owned it for 3 months and did ~2,000 k's in it.

They bought it off a local tradesman in melbourne who used it locally for work and was the original owner.
Van has been well maintained.

When i owned it i had it registered in the NT, where the registration rules are that you need a roadworthy every year to renew the rego. so it has passed two roadworthy inspections whilst with me, with only minor upkeep things needing replacing. For this reason don't buy anything that's been registered in states where they haven't had to have the vehicle pass an inspection for years as there will likely be more wrong with it. Bring a mechanically minded friend to look if you like. nothing to hide - it is a GREAT vehicle. Toyota is a well known brand in Australia, with easy to find parts. Ask around - the older Toyotas are a dream, no computer parts, so easy and cheap repairs if something goes wrong.

Has a bull bar / roo bar - absolutely necessary in Australia if travelling in the NT, national parks, Tas, or planning on distance drives at night. tow bar as well, just in case, or if you want to put a bike rack on.

Serviced regularly. Will provide a list of all work done whilst in my care. all mechanics i've taken it to have congratulated me on its condition.

Used to have a bed inside - i pulled it out so i could sleep inside in my swag and have more storage room during the day, and still have the option of a wet-weather option for sleeping. Can put the bed back if required, but i think this is the best way to travel as you can sleep outside when the night's nice! also gives the versatility of travelling with bicycles / surfboards without ruining your bed. But i'm flexible.

I'm up in Darwin at the moment, so please message me to arrange to view it between the 12th and 17th sept.

TIP: you can make money on a van like this if you sell it again at the right time / place. ie. in darwin right now ~$6000 is the going price for a van due to lots of backpackers coming down from asia and not many cars for sale.
