That's because what was created is actually a Facebook Page, and therefore only the admins can see who has joined saying "i like". I think in this case a Facebook group would be better, in them it's possible to see who's there (and even make group chats!).

What I don't know is if there's a way of reconverting the page into a group, or if we need to create it from scratch (it's not so much effort, anyway ;))

yes, but if you create a group, people can see who joined and make group chat with whole group :)

im fine with both ways... a group or page, or even picasa links...
