The Ascent Of Coliseum Mountain Ver 3.0 Sunday, Oct 2
Good day, brave adventurers!
I posted this on the main Vancouver board, but thought I'd toss it into this under-used group too, just in case!
I propose that the time has come to undertake the ascent of the legendary Coliseum Mountain, in Lynn Headwaters regional park, in North Vancouver.
I have attempted this journey twice before, and I feel that it is a truly worthy day hike. I would invite any adventurous and ready souls to join me on this excursion. I propose that we undertake this on Sunday, Oct 2. The extended forecast says the weather will be nice, not that a 7 day early forecast is worth anything in these parts. But I never drowned in a little rain, and I'm going for it either way.
It's a pretty major undertaking though. If you're not in pretty good shape, I suggest that you might not enjoy. It's a fairly long day, and we'll have to get a good early start to avoid getting stuck in the dark. We'll have to set a fairly hard pace, but it's not that bad, really. This is a transit-accessible adventure, but depending on attendance and such, we might be able to roll in vehicles to get a little bit earlier start.
Good footwear is essential, and make sure you've got lots of water and some food for the mountain-top picnic!
Final details will be determined later in the week, but I'm sure we can get everybody who might want to join sorted out!
