JOIN OZZIE GUY FOR SNOWBOARDING ADVENTURE IN FEB
Posted December 29th, 2012 - 6:56 pm by from Adelaide, Australia (Permalink)
Howdy im a 30 year old Ozzie from Adelaide looking for someone to join me on a snowboarding adventure in Canada at the start of Febuary. Im thinking of possibly buying or hiring a campervan and snowboarding at Whistler and possibly Bamf. Im easy going, neat and tidy and addicted to snowboarding. Im not completely sure how long i plan on staying at least a month though. I plan on getting as many days of snowboarding in as possible and when the conditions aren't right doing a bit of sight seeing. Sharing the costs of the campervan and fuel would be ideal. At the moment i havent finalised anything in the way of dates. Im open to any suggestions. I have an extremely good couchsurfing.com account with lots of glowing reviews so free accomidation may be possible here and there to get settled in and look for a campervan to buy or rent. Im probably looking at having around $7000 spending money after flights and already have my own snowboard equipment, so im undecided on hiring or renting a campervan., If i can find cheap accomidation near whistler than a car might be only needed.
Anyhow let us know if your interested
Cheers
Aaron

Hi mate ! Cool plan !
I've slept in my car (Subaru Outback) in Whistler, that was fine. You can find some cheap campervan, especially the Mitsubishi Delica 4x4, Japan imported (so right-sided steering wheel but as an Ozzie, that won't be a problem ;)) on craigslist.ca. I've seen many ski bums having those, and I highly recommend you that.
For the ski passes, I found liftopia.com which has some interesting deals.
We are already a bunch of guys travelling around, feel free to join us on that discussion : https://www.couchsurfing.org/activity/view/GXML8A/ski-roadtrip
Don't hesitate to message me too.

In Whistler, there's 1 or 2 cheap hostels, but I didn't stay there. Ask the locals about it. Your best chance would be to step in bars and meet some people. That worked for me sometimes, everybody is super friendly !

See you around !
