Just climbing!
Posted February 16th, 2011 - 7:11 pm by from Stirling, Scotland (Permalink)
Hey friends of the great outdoors,

since some of us recently got into a certain stage of planification for climbing, I wanted to push things a little bit more in the right direction! :D

My suggestion as far as time: upcoming Sunday, Feb 20 around 11 am.

Who can recommend a place to go?! What about the cliffhanger gym by the Main St Skytrain station?
Day-Pass would be 18$ (without renting gear).

Hope we get things started soon!! ;)

Yes! I am interested. I will skip my Ultimate game that morning if people are going climbing.

might be in too on Sunday if nothing serious comes in between. I usually go to the Main Street Cliffhanger even if I don't like it too much. BTW if you have a student ID it's 10%off. And if it is your first visit the gear rental is for free, just ask them.

For further climbs, as I have a car now, we could also go somewhere else. There are upcoming introduction and intermediate movement classes at the Edge in Noth Van. The beginners class is for free (you just pay the day pass) I really liked it.

I would love to go to the next intermediate movement class on Feb 22nd. We would have to preregister on there website. There are 5 spots remaining. It is 23.00 CAD including day pass for non-member. Somebody wanna join me for that too?

BTW everybody needs to pass a belay teat in all the gyms before you climb the fortst time.

belay test I mean of course :D

Posted February 18th, 2011 - 2:23 am by from Stirling, Scotland (Permalink)
hey, that would be a little crowd already! ;)

hope some more will join us.

I'm afraid I won't make it to the intermediate course even though I am really stoked to do it. I just won't have the time.

See ya on Sunday!

So should we all meet in front of the gym then? Can everybody belay at all?

Posted February 18th, 2011 - 5:29 am by from Stirling, Scotland (Permalink)
yeah let's meet in front of the gym around 11am.
I know how to belay in several ways...just don't know what they are asking us to demonstrate... . ;)

Oooh, I'm gonna tag along! Have been climbing at Cliffhanger's for awhile with my roommate but I'd love to meet more people in the climbing community. I'd be happy to belay and give pointers :D

See you Sunday at 11!

Climbing last time was pretty fun!

Therefore we decided to go again on Saturday, Feb 26 at 11 am.
Location is the same as last time: Cliffhanger Gym at Main Skytrain, Industrial Ave.

Let us know who is in!

Take care!

If this becomes an on-going thing I would totally be into going. I can't this week, but I hope to see this happening again if there are people interested. Climbing is such a great way to burn off some energy.
