35 pesos for a beer is actually a very cheap price, I don't know how long you have been here, but you'll never find a warsteiner for less than 50. In fact, in the pub next corner, it is at that price. Pizza at 30 pesos?? Nowhere. Our prices are really low.
You should go out a little more and compare. And please, if you find a bar or pub in Palermo that organizes FREE cultural activities OR have prices better than ours, you can tell us (name and adress).

I think your concept of our country is really not accurate.

Regards,

Morgana

I still dwell on one of your sentences: "people here don't make that kind of money" ????
When Argentinians come to this bar they're often surprised at how cheap the beer is!

And you forgot to mention that the small beer you drank was either imported or artesanal, of exclusive brands you won't find anywhere else... and that the prices are settled clearly on the menu... and... and... and...

I'm really surprised at this, because you stood there and talk to us and didn't make any comment about it. It kind of hypocritical...

Hi Tom

There is a bar in Almagro that has Schneider 1L for 20 pesos and Warsteiner for 26. It's called Le Troquet de Henry and the address is Guardia Vieja 3460. I think the pricing here (as everywhere) really depends on location, with Palermo being pricier than elsewhere. Although this bar that I've mentioned is less than a 15 min walk from Palermo, it makes all the difference!

Of course, I went to a parrilla last week in congreso and they had beer for 20$. But it was a tiny place, with dubious habilitation, not much space, and the only cultural activity there was watching a soccer match. The food was great, though, and I enthusiastically recommed it. It all depends on the place, the sanitary control, the "extras" you get. On the other hand if you go to a cinema, you're paying 33 pesos just to get in. And if you go in Almagro itself, other Caballito, Congreso or even Once if you like, you'll find restaurants that charge you 72$ for a pizza or $30. It's your choice.
