At the moment I am living in Townsville (Australia). I would love to flight to Vanuatu between the 21st of December and the 3rd of January. I would like to stay there 2 - 4 weeks and then fly back to Australia.

I would like to know how expansive is traveling in Vanuatu? So I am a student low on money :) as all students are.

And how can i find a cheap flight... most flights I found were around 500-600 AU$ (return) from Brisbane. Should I wait? or what can I do?

Thanks for help :)

cheers Andreas

Flights to Vanuatu are (relatively) expensive. You will not find anything cheaper than Virgin from Brisbane. You might consider flying Air Vanuatu instead though, the flight may be more expensive but you will get a 20% discount on all internal flights if you fly in with them.

$500 return is alright, it isn't going to go down from that to be honest.

Travelling in Vanuatu is reasonable provided you get out of Vila. 4 weeks is more than enough time for this. Make sure you head to Tanna and/or another island (Ambae/Ambrym/Pentecost) or maybe Santo. If you're on a budget it'll be pretty basic but that's all part of the fun.

As Matt said, travel in Vanuatu is rarely cheap. $500 return is as low as airfares will go, and then (unless you're really intrepid) you'll probably be looking at a few hundred more on internal flights.
