Things I have to do in Colombia!
Posted February 1st, 2013 - 8:07 pm by from Tampa, United States (Permalink)
Yo! How is everybody? So I fly in to Medellin, Colombia this June 1st. I hope to travel around Colombia for about a week to two weeks before meeting up with a friend of mine in Quito. What places, things, and activities do you recommend and are things in Colombia that I can't miss while I'm here. I love nature, doing what the locals do, experiencing new cultures, extreme sports, partying, lol basically anything so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Michael,
I will be there those days.
I went to Bogota and Cali. Bogota is a big city and you gonna find many things to do, museums, walk, also Cerro de Monserrate and Candelaria neighborhood.
Cali is the city for the party, Salsa music everywhere :)
I want to go to Parque Tayrona in the Caribbean and Cartagena. Also Medellin and the coffee farms near Armenia, Pereira. And some friends told me about a little town call Salento.

There are many places than you could visit!

Guatapé is near to Medellin, is a place small but have many colors, also, you could visit El Peñon

Atlantic Coast: Cartagena is a Historic City (San Felipe's Castle, Rosario's islands, Barù and more). In Santa Marta you could going to Tayrona Park and Taganga are places than you should visit... Also "Cabo de la vela" and "Tatacoa's Desert" In Guajira.

Bogota: Is a big city, with a weather cold.

Meta: Macarena's Sierra is great!

Armenia: Valle del Cocora in Salento is beautiful. Also there are many parks around.

Cali: Salsa's capital (Dance), also here you'll find the lake Calima, many sport activities. Very near is the Pacific Coast (Buenaventura, ladrilleros, La barra).

Thanks for responding Francisco and Yenniffer! I'm def going to try to go to a local coffee farm in the Zona cafetera! Francisico what dates are you going to be in Medellin? Also it seems that you both reccomend that I go to Cali! I was playing on stopping at Popayan before taking a bus to Quito, but you both think I should stop at Cali instead? Thanks for all the info! :)
