My Birthday and New Years in Brazil
Posted November 16th, 2012 - 3:55 am by from New York, United States (Permalink)
Hello All,
My birthday is Dec 30, so I'm hoping to spend my birthday and New Years in Brazil but dont' know where to go :(
I plan to backpack with a fold up bike (hope to purchase this month) Brazil for 3-4 months with the goal to to absorb the lifestyle and biking culture and language of the country. Therefore, I'm seeking advice on where to go and how to get around with a bike. I plan to camp, so any help/hosting you can provide to my travel plans will be grateful since I have to apply for the visa ASAP.

I plan to spend 6-8 month in South America!

I'm so jealous of the country!!! it all looks so beautiful?
But how do you commute to each of the areas?

Tomorrow I am traveling to Curitiba to meet my friend Alan and run a marathon. I met Alan when he passed by my place with his bike. He left Curitiba with the bike in a bus and started his solo trip in Peruibe, south coast of Sao Paulo state. Took the BR 101 highway and reached Rio de Janeiro City all by the coast.

So I decided to bring my personal bike to brazil.
However, I'm still waiting for my bike to arrive. I'm hoping it will be here today or tomorrow, well at least by Monday.
Wanted to see how many people are biking in the Rio region.
