Brazil on a one way ticket
Posted January 14th, 2013 - 2:27 pm by from Antwerp, Belgium (Permalink)
Hello,

I will be comming to Brazil on a one way ticket in February. Problem is I don´t have a flight back yet since I'm planning to travell further through bolivia and peru. I've heard people having problems arriving on a one way ticket though so I was thinking about buying a cheap bus ticket across the border (and probably not use it) to show them I will leave the country in less than 3 months.

The problem is that it`s quite hard for me to find a ticket like that from europe..
Does anyone know where I could buy something like that? Or any extra tips?

you may have problems to get to plane in Europe if you don`t have flight ticket back, at least Condor is asking that. And they have asked to see ticket out of the continent, not out of Brazil.

Thanks for the sugestion Diego!

Andra do you have any personal experience with that? I am flying with Condor..
But how are they allowed to ask a ticket out of the continent?
There is no law or rule prohibiting you from staying as long as you want to in south america is there? As long as you don't stay longer then the allowed period in a certain country..

I dont have experiences with this, but I met a guy from EUA and he had to extend his turist visa, he had just to pay something to the government and it was ok after all. The company cannot ask you for a flight back or even boarder control. You can just say you are going to other countries by car with a friend in less then 3 months.
