Housing in irvine

Hello lovelies,

I just got accepted to nursing school in irvine, so naturally, I've started looking on CL for studio or one bedroom apartments to rent in Irvine. I'm looking in the $1400 range, yet, I can't find much available in Irvine. It's important to me to be as close to campus as possible, yet be in a quiet and safe space. Can anyone shed like on housing in Irvine? Thanks!

Hi Sara, welcome to the OC! :) Did you post some time ago requesting a drive-partner from Berkeley down in your new Prius? I love driving, wish I could've helped you if I was going to be around the SF area...

Anyway, I moved to Irvine about 3 months ago and I think the apartments I live in has quite a few empty apartments... The studio I took is exactly in your price range and is quite brilliant... Check it out: San Mateo Apartments at 100 Cantata, Irvine 92606... UCI is about 5-6mins from here +5mins for the lights :P... Best of luck though!

School starts in aug. I'm wondering if more student housing will open up as it gets closer to the start of fall semester?

The Village/The Park by the Spectrum occasionally has some around that range.

If you're looking for housing advice specific to UCI, I'd recommend browsing and posting at this subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/uci

There are plenty of housing-related posts to skim over if you're interested: http://www.reddit.com/r/UCI/search?q=housing&restrict_sr=on

Maybe you'll get a lead. Good luck with your search.
