Looking for furnished room for 4 month sublease Sept. 1st.
I'm in search for a temporary sublet for 4 months beginning September 1st. I'll tell you what I'm up to and see if it fits with you. I'm on a housing adventure of moving to a new neighborhood every 3-4 months. Why am I doing this? I lived in Los Angeles for 12 years and each time I moved I lived within the same 2 mile radius. Upon leaving LA to live here I regretted not getting to know the other neighborhoods the city has to offer. And it's not the same to go out to dinner, drinks, or visit a friend in that neighborhood. To really get to know a neighborhood I need to wake up and go to sleep with that neighborhood, shop at its local markets, just be and do nothing as the neighborhood moves around me, you get it. So, before I settle down into an apartment and get comfortable and then get too lazy to move again I'm doing this room surfing adventure for 1 more year. I've had really great experiences so far, have bonded with great roommates, and feel like I now hold portraits of the neighborhoods I have come to live in.
This is what I'm looking for from my next temporary home:
1. That it be within my budget- $600-$700/month including utilities
2. It come furnished- really I just need a bed, desk, and closet (moving this often I must stay light with stuff)
3. The home and roommates be healthy- apartment is clean and of warm spirit (no pests, especially no bed bugs, and no cigarette smoke inside), and people be of healthy and sound mind and spirit. (I am great with dogs, cats, pets. Not allergic to animals)
So whatever the situation may be works for me: you are traveling and need a responsible and sensible person to housesit, pet sit, or take care of your rent, you need a temporary roommate while you search for a more permanent roommate to fill the space, you have an extra room and could use the company, financial help, or just try out the roommate thing short term, etc.
I'm open to pretty much any neighborhood, it'll all be an adventure for me. But a couple of neighborhoods are on my preferred list: East Village, Lower East Side, Greenwhich Village, West Village, SOHO, Chinatown, Little Italy, Greenpoint, Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg, Cobble Hill, Fort Greene, Prospect Heights, Astoria, Jackson Heights. Again, I'm open to other neighborhoods, in the end I know I'll be exactly where I need to be.
So now who am I? I'm a doula working on my certification and beginning my journey into nurse midwifery. As well, I'm an artist spirit. I'm an all around artist, I paint, dance (mainly salsa), love to play instruments (I've studied 7 instruments but now probably play them as a beginner), and love creative culinary creations. In LA I was a filmmaker, cinematographer and editor. I live mindfully and consciously in terms of my lifestyle, diet and my engagement with other beings. I should mention because it is important to me, I wake up early and therefore go to bed early and need my home to be respectful and quiet during those hours. I will be in school (working on my pre-requisites for nursing school) and will need quiet in the evenings while I study. Oh yeah, I'm a 30 year old female.
So, if this sounds like it fits in with your needs and what you're looking for please email me to set up a meet and greet of each other and your space.
Thank you very much for reading and considering.
