24 Hour Kissing Performance
Posted September 30th, 2012 - 8:01 am by from Quezon City, Philippines (Permalink)

I plan to move around Southeast Asia this December- January (possibly February too), hoping there would be some people who might be interested to do a kissing collaboration with me for my current performance video series: Mechanized Intimacy.

I already launched and exhibited the start of this series in the Philippines and in Japan.
When the whole series is done (should be March), it will be exhibited as an installation and would be my final thesis in the University of the Philippines as well.

Mechanized Intimacy is an on-going series of works by Rhine Bernardino revolving around the concept of human endurance. This involves a 24-hour collaboration of the artist with total strangers (total of 24 strangers, 24 sessions) to take a picture every minute as they kiss throughout the duration of the work process. A total of 1440 still images of the targeted 24-hour kissing marathon is stringed together into a full-minute film featuring the limitations of kissing: its shift from an intimate act to a mechanical process.

If you want to know more about it or know people that might be into it, please feel free to message me.
I'd love to discuss it with you.

Much thanks!
