Any serious or semi-serious trekkers up for c.a. a week somewhere?
So, I'm starting to roughly plan out my summer, which I'll most likely be spending completely in Iceland for the first time in a while.
I really really want to get into at least one or two treks about week-long somewhere and wouldn't mind the company if some likeminded people are thinking about something similar. I also have yet to see what days I'll have off this summer, so it's not completely open.
A favorite would be to be in some cool place around summer solstice, 21. of June.
I know there's a lot of people coming here, many of them to do some hiking or trekking, but I'd like to get in touch with someone who is willing and able to do something else than the Fimmvörðuháls/Landmannalaugar trail (with full respect for that awesome trail though).
So I'm looking for at least somewhat experienced and decently equipped people who are up for more rough terrains and most likely very vague trails, if any.
I've got some areas and things in mind, but of course plans will get more clear and I'm very open for discussing everything. Hornstrandir are really worth a visit so it might be possible to do something around that. Then there's plenty of cool mountains in the Eastfjords and the Westfjords, and of course the highlands.
What say ye? Anyone coming here with something like this in mind?
Yes! I am!
And I would love to hike around the westfjords! Or wherever....I'm up for anything! I'm hoping to make my way around the whole island during my trip doing as many awesome hikes as I can. I am here from now until June 27. Let me know!
