Hi everyones !

You're new here, I guess you joined the group because you like boardgames.

Please tell us more about yourself and your experience with games.
Are you a total beginner, just curious, or maybe a little bit more experimented ? Maybe an hardcore player ?
What to you expect from this group ? Some meeting ? Just to read some informations ?

As this forum is a little bit lacking of activities, I think it would really help to know your expectations ! :)

And you it's your turn to write.

Take care
Julien

Hi Julien and dear all,
i just joined the group and i am looking for some good board game events.

I love to play chess (not backgammon), Kalaha - an african game, and I purchased a very interesting Dutch chess board with different, more egalitarian game rules.
Last year I started to learn GO, I know some basics for small board( 34kyu according to playgo.to), enough for playing and i would reallllly love to learn+practice more, maybe setting up some weekly regular event to play would be great!

Hope to see you all soon
cheers
Zita

Hi Zita !

I'm absolutely not playing all th e abstract classical games llike chess or go, unfortunately. I wanted to learn chess, i would like to try go, but for a regular basis game session, it's too early for me :)

Would you also like to try some other kind of games ?
I can also give you some other stuff to try, if you like this abstract kind of games.

Hello everyone!

I just joined the group: I am here in Budapest for one month for work, and would love to spend a few evenings with a good beer, a good game (I like all sorts, from things like Catan and Carcasonne to Puerto Rico and Agricola), and good people.

Anything going on worth knowing about? Does Gem still do its weekly nights? Are they open to non-Hungarian speakers?

Hi to both of you :)

The gemklub is def still on. I was there two times this week, and we played dixit just last night :)

Usually wednesday is for "hardcore" players, and the other evenings for more casual players.

I missed this post until today, but I would be interested! I've never played Dixit, but never mind learning a new game.
