Movies in original language?

Hi everybody!
I have just arrived in Budapest, and who knows the city better than the couchsurfers?
I would like to know if there are any cinemas screening movies in original language. I'm studying Hungarian but I don't see it getting that good:)

Thanks!
Giulia

Hi Giulia,

Almost all the cinemas in Budapest proposes screenings in original language with hungarian subtitles. However I don't know any theatre playing regularly with english subtitles. If anyone else knows , please share!
I also try to check film festivals (screenings at Toldi, Müvesz, Urania for example) as there are chances then to have foreign movies with english subtitles.

Anyway you should check the PestiEst website , and its film category. I started to use it when my hungarian was really weak, but could find out my way.

Here is the film page link : http://www.pestiest.hu/film/
You can either look for a movie typing its title (original title works!) in the "film cime" searching bar , or checking the program of a specific cinema, clicking on the "kedvenc mozik"

Either way you will get to see a blue time table on the next page. And just above that table you should uncheck "Magyarul beszélő" (that means the movie will be in Hungarian) and the page automatically refreshes giving you the timings of the screening in original language.

Hope my explaination is clear engouh.
