Art classes in Boston?
Posted December 26th, 2011 - 5:21 pm by from Copenhagen, Denmark (Permalink)
Hey everyone!

I'm in Boston visiting my parents for a month and would love to attend a two-week or so artistic course :) I'd love either graphic design, painting and drawing or a theatre class. Anyone knows anything good, or a place where I might start looking??

Thanks, and happy holidays!

Hi Gunild!

There's a couple places I can recommend. Cambridge Center for Adult Education (ccae.org) has several classes, as well as Boston Center for Adult Education and Brookline Adult Education. They offer a variety of classes from painting, photography, etc. The classes usually run a little longer (6 weeks or so) but are less than $200.

http://www.eliotschool.org/ in Jamaica Plain also offers classes

Hope that helps! :)

All of those suggestions are great. Also, the Museum of Fine Arts offers continuing education classes: http://www.mfa.org/programs/studio-art-classes
as does the SMFA (but it's very expensive: http://www.smfa.edu/continuing-education

Thank you so much guys, it was very helpful! The perfect thing for me would be intensive courses as I'll only be able to attend three or four lessons out of 7-10 that goes on weekly.. I've looked for intensive courses, but couldn't find any. You don't happen to know anything about that? Thanks so much for your help! :)
