Combo: Sketching Meetup in Berlin + German Practice
Posted January 17th, 2013 - 1:52 pm by from Berlin, Germany (Permalink)
Is your sketchbook filling up not as fast as you'd like to? Mine definitely is!
If only I had a more definite framework...

I suggest to organize a sketching event (a weekly sketching event?) - let's decide upon a place to meet for a start, outside or inside, take out the sketchbooks and just draw! Whether you are a beginner or an advanced artist doesn't matter, it's all about creating a time-frame dedicated for drawing only.

More than that, since we are in Berlin, it would be also great for German-learners (like myself) to practice the language while being engaged in some meaningful activity with friendly "Gleichgesinnte".

So, whoever likes to draw and talk, answer this post to join me! Let's decide upon date and time that suit everybody - and off we go!

Waiting for your replies,
Alisa

I really won't bother about the german aspect, but I do need to fill up that sketch book. It's getting lame.

A friend, Angela, was organizing such meetings a few month ago when she was still in Berlin. One topic, one meeting point. I'm up for it again.

In order to let much people attempt the meeting, it was taking place on the weekend, late. Sucked much. I'm fine if some people wants to gather on weekdays, and during daylight.

Spontaneous meetings will be nice to.

Weekdays and daylight!
That's definitely what I was thinking of, otherwise it's not worth it.
I am not sure if I can be that spontaneous, but if it means dropping me a note at least a day before - it's fine with me.
And I also think - let's get it rolling and see how it goes. How about Wednesday (23d) this week, at 14:30? Where - I don't know yet, let's talk it over.
There were two more girls who wanted to join in, but they didn't answer me yet... I'll try to send them a direct message, as you did to me, and ask what they think about the day and the time.
So, first thing tell me if the time and the day suit you, or suggest something else.
All the best,
Alisa

Perfect timing to me, right before breakfast.

We can sketch wicked people and ambiance in the Alexa mole, on Alexander platz.
Or the abandoned factory in Landsberger Allee.
Or some lines from the hills of Volkspark Friedrichshain if it's sunny.
Or the boats from Treptower park.

OK, agreed! "Abgemacht!"
I come with an U-Bahn, so let's meet there (upstairs) at the Alexander Platz station, at 14:30, the day after tomorrow, 23d. I have no handy, so let's do it the old way: maybe you can recognize me by the userpic, but since I wouldn't risk to do so in your case maybe you could take your sketchbook out - hope it makes one recognisable, especially in our case. :)
Waiting to see you soon,
Alisa

That station got multiple exits, so let's meet instead in the Media Market entrance of Alexa. There are benches on the left, lot of light, heaters, and people to draw.

You can find me under that hat:
