Scavenger hunt!
Posted July 31st, 2012 - 12:24 am by from San Francisco, United States (Permalink)
Hey, I have an idea to make a scavenger hung all around SF for the couch crash. I worked on this with some friends in the Twin Cities Couch Crash, and though it was one of the best/silliest/amazing ways to learn more about a city!

Since we're taking a walk on the coast and the bridge, this lets people get into the neighbours hoods (and random restaurants/ bars)

Probably keep it close to Bart/Metro - but there are lots of thing I've yet to see in the ciy that would eb pretty fun to run by or randomly get off at.

It's usually done some way with scoring + 1's for pictures of 'did you see a ____ (hispter, ass-less chaps, 4 year old with an ipad)

and usually hysterical to present at some point after it's finished ( pictures required)

Maybe Sunday would be good for the Scavenger Hunt. Having it during the week may exclude the workig locals, who could play and guide the travelers. End up at the Alamo Square Potluck and compare team achievements to determine a winner?

Sean this idea is cool. I can help you with planning it.

The Baltimore CouchCrash (2 yrs ago) had a sort of bingo board that everybody received at the beginning of the week. People would mark the sights they saw and then compare them at the end. It was cool. I am sure we can think of something similar.

Also, you could make the entire CouchCrashSF weekend part of the scavenger hunt by giving the scavenger list at the Kick-Off and then tallying winning results at the potluck? Just a thought. :)
