I suggest a contest.

Can anyone find worse Terms than those of CS?

Or maybe we can give CS the International Award for the Worst Internet Terms?

We can send out press releases to all the same business sites that CS sends its press releases to.

David

Hi.

…so, someone from Minneapolis is here, after all.

Besides being told my entire country is brainwashed, most of what you have to say is pretty interesting. I was unaware of it by and large.

I don’t even disagree with you on the whole brainwashed thing, but, going for the “fuck you morons,” angle (via Mr. Bill Hicks) doesn’t work on us big headed US Citizens. And threatening us with the possibility of europeans not wanting to host us? Even if it’s true, what are you trying to prove?

All sardonicism aside, it’s a shame to see this happening, but what can a person really do? Someone said getting this into the US press would help…

Honestly: Maybe 15% of people in the US are aware of CS, and a month before the presidential election (and 2 days after the Innocence of Islam backlash) (and a few weeks after the shooting in the sikh temple) (and a couple months after the thing one during the batman premier)

fuck, i do need to move out of this country.

But, before I do, how do we save couch surfing? I don’t really understand what’s to be done. If the thing’s been sold already, do you think it will be bought back? Obviously, their eyes are on dollar signs, and that’s what they’re going for. Coming from a young US Citizen, you can’t stop the freight train of capitalism from derailing all over everything you love. It’s duck and cover, my friend.

Wait, is [ME SAYING THIS] the entire reason my country is screwed?

I was at OWS, I’ve tried to make a difference, but where does it end?

In the end, my point is...
-What you’re saying : JUSTIFIED
-How you’re saying it : Not helping you
-Where do I stand : Can I get a couch in australia?
-What will I do? Work with you, obviously. But seriously, you’re not going to get much support sounding all accusatory.
-What’s going to work better, in my opinion: Leaving the site. But… wait… they’ll still have your data. Yeah, that is wrong. And I’m just as clueless as I was in coming here.

I really hate the tone of everything I’ve just written, but I don’t know how else to express my opinions on this. If I just made my country look like an even sloppier mind bog, well, sorry.

" yes, there are awful terms of use out there with other companies: Facebook, Google, MSN, you name it"

In fact ALL these companies - as bad and indefensible as they may be - have more reasonable Terms than CS.

No one has been able to find a single company so far - and we have looked - with Terms as bad as those CS is claiming.
