Don't know why they did it but if it was us, then congratulations!

Unfortunately, this is not a real success. I announced a success only if C$ would become non-profit organization again. Until then we are still only a product which have to make many for the owners of CouchSurfing Incorporation. But I am afraid this will never happen, unless the corporation will go bankrupt and the investors will give back their shares to some non-profit organization.

Well well, even a small success is a success. Meanwhile, keep on lobbying, mates!

They ought to have done that in the last hour, because I still have both versions active in two different tabs :D

(And jumping from one to the other, it seems that only the date has changed...)

I too get different dates. This is sometimes because our ISP sends a page it already has in memory rather than requesting it again from CS. Since the page is not identified by CS as a page that updates, this is normal.

I do not really understand some things here:

Okay, the ToU are horrable! I agree with that.

But why do most of you want CS to become a non profit organisation again? I think the website became a lot better... and if the make some money with the service, they offer, I'm fine with that!

But there has to be a better way of making some profit than selling the users data. I could live with some advertisements on the site... and if it's not just random bullshit advertising but stuff related to traveling, outdoor etc. it wouldn't even be as annoying as e.g. on facebook.

I'd even pay a small fee for using the site... maybe a few dollar / euro for every successfull couchrequest.

They could even provide free access with ads and "premium access" without ads... there are a lot of possible options.

Okay... I'm realising I'm going too far off topic here... so that's it for now... just wanted to share these thoughts...

Yes, Ralf, there are many different ways they can actually earn money from this, and if they are going for it, and I, somewhat, support it if they badly need the money.

But, than again, it degrades the spirit of CS and the basic principles it was built on, EXCHANGE. So, what it means? In someway, I as a bachelor in Media & Communications, have a right to ask from my surfers to pay me if they want to know something more about McLuhan, Derrida, Foucault, Balle...and how to apply Freud, Jung, Adler and whatever is out there on today's TV, Internet, commercial, billboards and so on...

Thank You CS and fuck You!
