I have been following Tripping almost from Day 1. They are no better
than Couch$urfing. They advertise themselves as being safer than
Couch$urfing, but use a similar "verification" scheme to make money,
called video validation where you hold up a utility bill to a webcam!
And they are now mixing hospitality with accomodation rentals.

When I started to criticize Tripping the contact which I had with its
founder broke off. No more questions answered. By the time of course
they had received millions in funding and no longer needed the advice
of experienced CouchSurfers.

For me, the above message which Tripping sent out is an example of how these
people exploit the misery and the empathy of users for their own
commercial purposes. Let's not be naive. Tripping is no better than
Couch$urfing. They are just more professional, including at fooling
